Hey how’s it going Weekly Check-in time! I honestly slacked these past two weeks because of personal and professional obligations.
However, I did read 6 volumes of manga and watched 2 tv shows along with 1 movie and 1 anime. Onto the Media!!!!

Series Continuations
One Piece volumes 97-99
This series continues to be amazing, and action packed. There are so many reveals and action sequences. I am definitely glad I am reading this now, so I know what’s happening after the anime dub comes out. I think my only issue is that there are some panels that seem unclear on what is happening. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Series Binge
Dramacon Vols 1-3
This manga series that was one that I was intrigued by, but I was worried that it would be cheesier than anything I have ever read. However, this first volume was not!!!!! First, there is an attempted rape scene and other severe verbal abuse points with crude humor. Second, I would not recommend this series for teens. I would, however, recommend it for older teens/college kids because I think it would signify a decent representation of what a first anime convention could be. I also thought the blind representation was interesting??? but I know not everyone is going to like it. Overall, though, I think it’s an interesting story. Because of these points, I have to give this 3.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends
This show!! Its one that you can learn moral lessons but also to just watch some mindless TV where I can laugh and not think about what is going on. Also, I can definitely see the adult jokes in here too lol! 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣🍣.

These episodes were definitely a turning point in the season, with different relationships getting the spotlight, more in-depth mental health discussions, and a variety of changes in hospital administration. I’m still enjoying the series but I’ll be honest watching it has made my mental health even worse than it already was. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣.
Series Finale
Carnival Row
The last couple of episodes of this show!!!!!!!! It was amazing. Everything was wrapped up for most of the characters, the world was expanded a tad, and the action was pretty interesting. HOWEVER!!!! I feel like there were too many pacing issues. Things were too slow in some places and too fast in others. I think if things were more expanded etc. It would have become a perfect substitute for GOT but with a cozier mystery vibe if that makes sense. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Movie
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3
Note: There’s a lot of photosensitive/seizure triggers that occur in this movie and tons of animal cruelty so be mindful when watching. Be that as it may, I enjoyed this movie but I had some qualms. 1. It felt like they were trying too hard to wrap everything up with the group as a whole. 2. There were a lot of awkward song pauses. and 3. I felt there were excessive one liners. I think as far as fitting in with the Guardians franchise it was a nice addition, however, the previous one was better. I am curious as well as if there will be solo movies afterwards. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣 .
Book Club:The Next Chapter
This was a hilarious movie, but unfortunately for me, it’s not one for me at this point in time. However, I do recommend it for women everywhere who are making sure that they are finding their way along with true love. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣🍣🍣.
Anime
One Piece
Watching the anime episodes after reading them in the manga is definitely an interesting experience especially when you know what is coming to an extent. I think my only issue with it now is that, although it is clarifying things for me, some of the order of things and information that is conveyed seems to be jumbled up or slowed down significantly. Perhaps that is due to me reading so fast or just because it’s an adaptation so in order for movement to be flawless, animators had to move things around who knows? But, I am still excited to continue watching the anime and wait for more dub to come out. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
The Week Ahead
The week ahead, I fear will be more of the same. However, I think I want to expand by reading more. I was feeling that watching things would be easier than reading at this point. What about you guys? What did you read or watch this week? Let’s talk about it!!!
