Medical Media

Hey guys how’s it going?? Today is a post that I have visualized in my mind for quite a while. I have one that is for people with health representation but what about the medical professionals? They have their own types of media too and I would like to talk about them. This post also has them varying from teens to adults. Onto the media!!!

Manga

For Adults

Incurable Case of Love

This manga screamed the second half of the Itazura Na Kiss franchise in my opinion with the nurse and doctor dynamic in the best way. The difference is that this is a slow burn romance of two total strangers as opposed to the former who start in high school and move forward with the nurse and doctor dynamic. But I love this as much as that franchise just in a different way. Also, I appreciated that it felt realistic with the setting and characters. Check it out if you haven’t already.

For Teens

Cells at Work Baby

I really enjoyed this manga actually more than I expected to because of the original anime series was fun but a tad episodic. This manga was a lot more flowing and more continual and easy to understand especially when it comes to the birthing progress. This is also a very good manga if you are a new parent who wants to understand the infant’s body with different situations but also for teens who want to explore how viruses and heat rashes manifest. My favorite part though was the new characters that was presented in this story and I’m excited to see more from this. Because of these points, I have to give this manga a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣

Books

For Teens

Sick Kids in Love

As far as an audiobook, this was a very good one although there are moments when I was not able to distinguish between characters sometimes.
When it comes to content, there were so many funny moments in these yet emotional moments all at the same time.
I appreciated that it wasn’t entirely about the illnesses the characters had it was about who they are and how their personalities were along with family dynamic. Real life is that way sometimes, so it was necessary I believe to maintain uniqueness.
appreciated the contemporary aspects of them all that occurred. It reminded me a lot of The Fault in Our Stars in some senses but in others it reminded me of all of my favorite contemporaries in the best way.
There were moments when I laughed aloud and almost cried when certain things happen but I would love to reread it someday and highlight all of the profound quotes and funny lines.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and it has become one of my favorites. Check it out if you haven’t already!

For Adults

Could be Something Good

This was an unexpected surprise. If you’re looking for a medical small town romance this is perfect along with a minor age gap. I was engaged with the story the characters and everything in between. If I had a small complaint, I could have done without the goofy if they can last 8 weeks before doing something they’re golden subplot but other than that I had a fantastic time reading this. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣 🍣🍣.

TV Shows

Teen Drama

Red Band Society

This show spotlights teen patients in the hospital with varying disorders, but also it spotlights doctors and nurses in the ward. If this intrigues you, check it out.

Adult Drama

ER

This show is not a new one in the weekly check-ins so I will just keep it brief. Its a show that discusses several aspects of the ER from the beginning intern to the long time attending. This takes place in the 90s-early 2000s. Check it out if you’re interested.

Movies

For Teens

Patch Adams

Patch Adams is a loosely based bio pic movie that is about different perspectives on treating patients especially with using humor to help. It takes place in the late 60s early 70s and very interesting! Check it out if you haven’t already!

For Adults

The God Committee

This movie is one that I was fascinated with when it comes to how certain people “decide” who gets an organ and who doesn’t. I also appreciated that there was mention on how there was some research being conducted that helps with the human organ shortage. Check it out if you haven’t already.

What about you guys? Have you consumed any medical media??? Give me some recommendations in the comments!!!
