Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time where I focused a lot of time not on consuming media but other things.

Because of this, I watched three anime and one tv show. I also read two volumes of manga. Onto the media!!!!
Anime
Call of the Night

This is a series with both the anime and manga that honestly has so many mixed reviews that I was intimidated by at first. I think it mainly comes down to the humor. (So many dirty jokes). But I am pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, dreamy visuals and the music is an unexpected choice. However, the main guy truly needs to be aged up for some of the concepts to land better for me personally. Because of these points, I have to give this anime a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Hi Score Girl

This is a show that I was wanting to try at first thinking it was a slice of life romance with gaming elements. It is but its definitely more about gaming than romance. It takes place in the 90s which I am familiar with some of the games that came out but not many so thankfully there were some exposition points involved for me but for veteran arcade gamers you may enjoy this more than me. The animation is similar to RWBY except choppy so if that bothers you, don’t watch. I loved the integration of the game characters with the anime characters (seems like most of the money was spent on that honestly). And the love triangle was interesting (although some points a little annoying). Overall, though, I’d like to know what happens next and is one I would recommend. 3.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Kakegurui Twin

This was a show I was avoiding because of how the original left a bad taste in my mouth. But I actually liked the deception in these episodes and the variety of games that were presented. Also, how some characters disappeared and appeared from the original were interesting. Ultimately though, it was lacking quite a bit of background and more character development than previous in my personal opinion. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
TV Show
Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends

This show is one that I remember watching sparingly in my youth because of lack of cable but now watching it from the beginning on streaming, I remember how funny it was and how wholesome. I am excited to watch some more but I do want to keep in mind the age of the show and its target audience. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣
Manga
Series Continuations
Snow White with the Red Hair Vols 3 and 4

Maybe I wasn’t ready to read this again or what, but there was something missing when I was reading this. I love the fantasy and the romance (especially the swoony moments) but I feel like I need to remind myself what the beginning of this series is all about and how well I love the characters. Perhaps it’s because of the distance between me reading these volumes and the previous ones. Yeah, that’s probably what it is. Anyway, if you are looking for a quintessential fantasy romance in manga form, this is for you. However, I feel like you can’t just read one volume of this and be satisfied. Because of these points, I have to give these a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
The Week Ahead
The week ahead, I think I am going to continue what I am doing, but expand more in my consumption. I may though, do more reading rather than watching(hopefully). What about you guys? What did you read or watch this week? Let’s talk about it!!!!
