Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time where I decided to stay with one particular lane and pick up media that I have either avoided or needed the pick-me-up for.

Because of this I watched 4 anime and 3 movies. I also read 6 volumes of manga. Onto the media!!!
Anime Rewatch
My Dress-up Darling

This anime is turning into one of my comfort shows. The lead girl is confident yet dorky all at once. But it also shows ambition and all hobbies are cool. There are some moments that made the show a little slow after a while, but truly, I love it. Because of these points, I have to give this a 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi π£π£π£π£π£.
New Anime
Oshi No Ko

This series is interesting????? The character dynamics the thriller feels…. it’s not what you would expect. The ups and downs of the entertainment industry are also fascinating as well. I am curious to see what happens next. Because of these points, 4-4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi π£π£π£π£π£.
Sword Art Online Alicization

Ooooooooooooif this show!!!!!!!!! I honestly knew based on the reviews of this installment of SAO, that it was going to be one that I was either going to be annoyed with like GGO and some of Alheim (don’t need a sister complex sorry not sorry). Or love it like the Mothers Rosario/original SAO arc(with bits of pieces I didn’t like but that was more the rewatch). Anyway, this installment is definitely one for adults and upper teens because of the on-screen cruelty and violence but also an unexpected rape scene in the first part of the season. My issue with this was the second half of the series the most. It took a turn that was truly not necessary (especially the girl harem growing) and losing the other guy that was more redeemable than Kirito(again sorry not sorry). (Also side note you need to watch ordinal scale before you watch the second half because of a cameo) Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5-4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£π£π£.
Himouto Umaru-chan R

With this week being the way it is, I needed some fluff unbelievable sometimes silly stuff and this anime definitely takes that. This particular season discusses lessons of friendship and family dynamics as well that were more serious which I appreciated. I think my only issue was that some of the pieces just feels like they were just added to add more characters and I didn’t care. Because of these points, I will give you a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£π£π£π£.
Manga
Series Continuations
Otomen vols 5-6

This manga series continues to be fascinating but also discusses interesting topics that I love learning about. Where it took a turn in vol 6, was very dramatic, and I could not imagine how it would continue so I couldn’t continue on. Overall, I do recommend this series and I am curious to continue on. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£π£π£.
One Piece

This series continues to be one that I am intrigued by and I love the background that was presented in these volumes. I think my only issue with the One Piece manga in general is that there are times that I can’t figure out which character is which. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£π£π£.
Yona of the Dawn

This series continues to be politically driven and romantic. I love all of the characters, and the plot just thickens like pea soup in a good way. I just am only mad I can’t get any more from the library because after these they have 35-37. 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi π£ π£π£π£π£
Anime Movie
Suzume

How to put this into words……..it’s difficult Haha! Perhaps since this is my first film from Mikoto Shinkai (from my understanding) but I knew one thing for sure was that based on the trailer and other aspects that it was going to be doozy. It was beautiful and presented some moral lessons. However, there was instant love and need for some more exposition than what was presented. I also noticed that with a lot of the anime movies I have watched there’s no real huge epilogues and with this one in particular I think I needed one to solidify how things ended. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£π£π£π£.
Movie
Trouble With the Curve

This is definitely a movie that can be perfect for people who love sports, comedy, and drama. I love that it was presenting an underrated yet important role in the sports industry: the scout. It was interesting learning about that aspect of the industry but also how the side effects of that. I loved most of the characters with this, but unfortunately, I was not a fan of one because it felt like they needed to be expanded on. Because of these points, I have to give this 4.5-5 stars or 5 sushi π£ π£π£π£π£.
Super Mario Bros

This movie was definitely a great pick-me-up for me this week. It brought a modern but also classic twist on the Nintendo Mario Games (which as someone who briefly played them in youth was very nice). It also created some origin stories for the games and characters that I appreciated as well. There was a ton of humor and moments that I enjoyed but I wasn’t sure how things were going to end (because of that the end felt rushed). I also was disappointed some characters did not get more love (maybe it will happen in a different movie who knows). Overall, I enjoyed my time, and I am curious to see what happens next. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£π£π£π£.
The Week Ahead
The week ahead, I know there’s some assigned items I need to get done but mood consuming is the best. What about you guys? What did you read or watch this week? Let’s talk about it!!!
