Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time where I was sick but also celebrating the holidays.
Because of this, I watched three TV shows and one Anime show along with two Anime Movies. I read a Novella and a Picture book along with listened to a podcast these past two weeks. Onto the Media!!!
TV Show Rewatch
Ghosts
Lately I’ve needed to watch something mindless, funny but also with some profound moments at the same time and because of that, I decided to rewatch this show. I will be honest some of these episodes were a little too silly and some of the jokes didn’t land as much as last time but overall, I am glad I am watching this again and will continue on when it comes back again. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

This show is continuing to intrigue me in the sense of office politics along with the new characters that are being presented. I also am enjoying the psych aspects this set of episodes. I think my only issue is that there were too many social justice aspects with one particular storyline but otherwise I am still enjoying it. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
The Practice
I think my favorite aspect of this show is that it explains certain procedures depending on which case that is being tried. My only issue with these episodes is that some of the people are very whiny and superficial. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Anime Movies
One Piece: Strong World and Z
I lumped these movies together because honestly I am still waiting for the new dub and I wanted to be in this world again. I have to say I liked Z better than Strong World because of the plot and character development but both were great 👍. As far as where these movies fit into the timeline Strong World fits into the story by pre Fishman Island arc and Z is pre Dressrosa post Punk Hazard arc if that makes any sense at all. But overall if you are wanting more One Piece like I did I recommend these movies. 4 out of 5 stars for Strong World and 4.5 out of 5 stars for Z and both are 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Taisho Otome Fairy Tale
This is an anime I had seen on Tiktok but also one of my dear friends recommended me to watch it and I am so glad I did. This takes place during the Taisho Era of Japan which was interesting because of the fashion but also because of the cultural aspects. I loved the wholesomeness of the romance, the way that several people in the show found their purposes in life, and overall I enjoyed my time and loved it. I think though because of how much I loved it, I wanted more I wanted more plot in the best way. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣🍣
Picture Book
The Gingerbread Twins
This is a picture book I read with my students and if you are looking for an updated version of the Gingerbread Man story (which I remember my grandmother reading to us so much as a kid), this story definitely is one to be fitting the bill. It discusses a fox trying to create the perfect recipe for the gingerbread mainly and shenanigans ensue. I think my only issue was that there wasn’t much closure for the gingerbread, and I wasn’t a fan of that. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Novella
Mingle All the Way
This is an office fake dating holiday romance with an online dating component that I was truly surprised and appreciated all at the same time. Its one of those stories that I could definitely see hallmark eating up. Now I had two issues. One, there were a few plot holes that could have been cleared up by a couple of sentences. Two, its one that I think I know I read but its not one that I’ll shout through the rooftops for everyone to read. Because of these points, I have to give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣 🍣 🍣. If you need something for the holiday season and haven’t read it yet do so.

Dad Needs to Talk
There is a definite reason that this podcast is my number one. I love learning about all the different media that is out there and the different guests he brings on. I really wish there were more episodes to listen to but he is only human. Because of these points, I have to give it a 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
The Week/Year Ahead
