Hey guys how’s it going? Today I want to discuss my top 5 idol anime that I personally love. Now Idol anime, what exactly does that mean? According to Anime Planet.com it means that this type of anime discusses heavily promoted performers that are adored by the masses and perform at events or concerts. They also examine the pros and cons of the industry with some sort of magical element. There are a variety out there but if you truly love music, you should definitely check these out. Also, these aren’t in any order however, if you have similar taste to me, check these out!

Zombieland Saga

Summary: In the year 2008, high school student Sakura Minamoto is abruptly killed by a truck on the morning she plans to submit an idol application. Ten years later, Sakura, along with six “legendary” girls from various eras of Japan’s history, are brought back as zombies by a man named Kotaro Tatsumi, who seeks to revitalize Saga Prefecture by putting together an all-zombie idol group that would become known as Franchouchou.
Magic Element: Resurrection
Why I personally like it: I like it because it’s hilarious, there’s an aura of mystery surrounding it, plus I enjoy all but one of the characters. The plot is also not as happy-go-lucky as some others.
Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream

Summary:
The series takes place in Yokohama, Japan. Prism Shows, performances that are a combination of singing, dancing, fashion, and ice skating, are popular. The skaters, known as Prism Stars, use Prism Stones to coordinate their outfits and perform Prism Jumps to appeal to their fans.
Aira Harune and Rizumu Amamiya are suddenly scouted to be Prism Stars after Mion Takamine drops out of her debut showcase. Though Aira has no experience in performing, her fashion focus reveals her innate talent as a Prism Star. On the other hand, Rizumu is centered on perfecting “Aurora Rising”, the legendary Prism Jump her mother once performed, in hopes that it may help her find her mother again. After Mion returns and bonds with them, the three girls’ debut as the Prism Star group “MARs.”
Magical Element: Prism Stones
Why I like it: I like it because it is unique performance wise, plus the fashion is gorgeous. I also enjoyed the spinoff of Dear My Future, however nothing past it. It also is a show I would personally recommend to young girls because it is accessible as far as dialogue.
Uta No Prince-sama

Summary: With dreams of becoming a composer and someday writing a song for her favorite idol, Haruka Nanami enters the Saotome Academy, a prestigious performing arts school made up of students who are either vying to become an idol or a music producer. Haruka becomes acquainted with six of her classmates, who are all competing to become idols. For her project, she must team up with another student as an idol-producer team, and if they are successful, they will join Shining Agency after graduation. In addition, romance is strictly prohibited at their school.
Magical Element: I am not sure what the magical element is I think it’s just their feelings about performing with others??
Why I personally like it: The guys are hot, the music is a variety (at least to me anyway), the fashion is gorgeous, and the plot is interesting.
Full Moon wo Sagashite

Summary: Twelve-year-old Mitsuki Koyama dreams of becoming a singer to reunite with her first love, Eichi Sakurai. However, she is afflicted with sarcoma (a cancerous tumor in her throat), which affects her ability to breathe well and sing loudly. Her tumor can be cured only through a surgery that could damage her vocal cords. At the same time, her grandmother hates music and is completely against Mitsuki’s wish to audition. Mitsuki’s dreams seem impossible to achieve until she is visited by two Shinigami, with their assistance, Mitsuki becomes Full Moon to achieve her dream.
Magical Element: Shinigami
Why I personally like it: I personally love this series because of the emotions it brings. There is a romantic element plus the other world aspects were believably built up. I would also like to add that this series is accessible to young girls and beautiful in its fashion choices as well.
Skip Beat

Summary: It is the story of Kyoko Mogami a 16-year-old girl who discovers that her childhood friend and romantic goal, Shotaro Fuwa, only keeps her around to act as a maid and to earn his living expenses, while he works his way to become the top pop idol in Japan. Furious and heartbroken, she vows revenge by beating him in show business.
Magical Element: Pure Determination
Why I personally like it: I love Kyoko as a character, there’s a variety of characters in different aspects of show business, there’s a romance, and the overall plot is hilarious.
