Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in Time where I wrapped up my school year and started summer vacation.
Because of this, I listened to two podcasts, watched an anime and movie, and read a novella and volume of manga. Onto the media!!!
Movie
A Perfect Pairing
I was worried when I sat down to watch this movie with my dad especially because of Victoria Justice being one of the modern contemporary actresses that is intense with cheesy dialogue but also nice singing. However, as I was watching this movie, it had a lot more realistic relationships than I was expecting plus no girl hate. I also love how realistic the setting was when it came to working on a station in Australia. The only issue I had was that there was one moment where it just randomly put a song into the story, and it just felt like it was just put into there just because Victoria Justice was in the movie. Overall, though, if you were interested in this movie, I highly recommend it. Because of these points, I have to give this movie a 4.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Black Clover
I am addicted to this show tenfold! Every night I have watched several episodes of this and enjoy every one of them. I can understand how this is not for everyone however, because of the obsession with the main character and how his actions seem to reflect literally everyone close to him. However, I love the character dynamics, dialogue, and unique world-building. The only issue I have is my personal preference as a binger of anime that the recaps are absolutely annoying and putting them into the story just so that it seems like you can’t skip it because its new material, nevertheless, it isn’t. I know I know it seems like that’s a bit nitpicky, be that as it may it’s a fun show and I am glad I started it. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Dub Talk
I have missed listening to this podcast so much the last few months. Of course, I had to listen to their black clover episode (which I appreciated their in-depth analysis on the show as a whole by the way) But I also listened to an analysis of a series that I had never heard of before and although I am not sure if I will watch it anytime soon, its one that because I heard them talk about it, I will at least try it. Its a show I love listening to when I need a long in-depth analysis and find new anime recommendations. 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Little Bit Weebish
Man, this is another podcast I have missed for the last month, I truly enjoy the discussions that the hosts have especially with guests on their podcast. I will be honest if I was obsessed with Attack on Titan or another anime that they intensely fangirled over, then I would listen to their podcast more. But I especially loved the Japan tips and tricks episode and the 90s anime episode. Because of these points, I have to give this podcast a 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Thick Cut
This was definitely a fantastic palate cleanser to get back into reading again. I appreciate the realism through most of the characters. There are some racial comments and intense sex scenes so if those things make you uncomfortable, please don’t read this. However, for me personally it gave the characters a lot of depth and it made me appreciate the story more. Overall, it’s a great novella to read and no you don’t have to read issue one to understand this one. Because of these points, I have to give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣 🍣 🍣🍣🍣.

Love After World Domination
This manga is one that I am confused about but at the same time I am curious about at the same time. This is because the romance is swoony adorable plus its forbidden similar to Boarding School Juliet (so if you guys enjoy that series, I highly recommend this one). My problem though, is that I am confused on the world. I can tell there’s two sides to these people but what kind of jobs are the people doing? Are they superheroes and supervillains? or they are secret agents like Kim Possible??? I am not sure, but I am hoping as the series goes on, I understand more. Overall, though, I am rooting for this couple and excited to see how this series turns out. Because of these points, I have to give this manga a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
The Week Ahead
