Weekly Check-in 04/30/2022

Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time! Where I am catching up on media but also trying some new things as well.

Because of this, I watched one miniseries and one anime. I listened to one podcast and read a book. Onto the media!!!

North & South

This miniseries is based off a book series by John Jakes (according to my parents) and it truly is very interesting (although Patrick Swayze can be very distracting). There is a ton of action, romance, and moral lessons about pre-civil war times. The political maneuvering is also interesting as well. Overall, I am intrigued to see how this mini-series continues on and this is definitely great for you US history buffs out there. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Zombieland Saga

I think this week I needed some fluff but at the same time wanted to finish this show. If you love music, comedy, zombies and girls building up friendship, this show is for you. I appreciated how this season goes into more depth on the characters we don’t know much about plus make them have more serious aspects. Overall, if you have been sleeping on this series I highly recommend. 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Dad Needs to Talk

I still really enjoy this podcast!! I enjoy the weekly updates and the opinions of all of the different media he consumes. I also appreciate the interviews that he has especially the one with Core Reviews recently. Overall, it’s a lot of fun listening to him in the car on the way back and forth to work. Because of these points, I have to give this a 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Dating Dr.Dil

This book took me way too long to read (about two weeks I believe). But that’s because I believe when I am learning a lot about different cultures especially in an adult romance, I go slower. But this is my second book by this author, and I liked it better than the previous and this is why. I liked how both characters were flushed out taking their time to figure out themselves before the relationship. I also enjoyed the side characters because of how much they brought to the table (especially the friends). However, there was way too much pushing/pressuring on the woman more than the man (this could be more of a culture issue than a book issue so I’m not docking the book a star for that). Nevertheless, I had moments where I wanted to yell at the characters to just quit beating around the bush or in some of Prem’s case why are you stalking her?? Anyhow though, I will continue reading from this author again, and I recommend it for someone looking for a decent southern Asian adult romance. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

The Week Ahead

The week ahead, I would like to continue on as far as finishing things I have started especially with summer coming up. Another part I would like to do too is find another big series to invest in because I think what I have done previously is a lot of fun. We will see though. What about you guys? What have you watched, listened, or read this week? Let’s talk about it!!
