Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time! This week, I think I am getting back into my groove of consuming media again, especially some great media.

Because of this, I watched two movies and three TV shows. I also read three volumes of manga and a novella. Onto the Media!!
Movie
Finding You

This movie!!! Was more adorable than I expected it to be but also an emotional movie. There were all different walks of life stories, There’s famous people elements but it wasn’t the complete storyline which I appreciated. I also loved that the leading lady wasn’t a doormat and figured things out. The guy was also such a cinnamon roll (he even cried when he tried to take her back ahhh π) There were some choppy points in the plot but otherwise I loved it. Because of these points, I have to give this movie a 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi π£ π£π£π£π£.
Encanto

Yes, I watched this because of the hype, no I did not hate it, but I didn’t love it it’s my new favorite thing. Here’s why: I love the characters as individuals, and I loved the music. My issue was the plot. I understood how the characters were connected or how certain things were not discussed. However, I think I needed more explanation on how certain things got solved. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£π£π£π£.
TV Show
Friday Night Lights

This week’s amount of episodes for this show has a lot of plot holes but also some of the characters are just too cringe π¬. Overall though, its definitely one I can watch mindlessly. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi π£ π£π£.
Picard

This show my dad and I started to watch (if you’ve been reading this blog for awhile you know we like Star Trek here) so once we acquired Paramount + we got started. So as someone who has little knowledge of the franchise, I am still enjoying it, however, it is going so slow but also twisty at the same time. There are also moments that I feel lost. Because of these points, I have to give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi π£ π£ π£.
Baking Impossible

This is a show that is one that I randomly found on Netflix and I thought it was very fascinating. It combines the two career fields of engineering and baking with individuals working in teams. It also presents that the edible projects have to be functional along with tasting good. Some things turned out great some went blergh.(But the host sucks sorry not sorry his jokes are lame) Overall though, it was a ton of fun and I am excited to continue on. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£ π£π£.
Manga
Series Continuations
Living Room Matsunaga-san

This manga just keeps getting better and better. I love the facial expressions Matsunaga-san created plus the reader is able to see how Meeko is trying to balance everything in the best way. I also love the slow burn romance that is brewing. I do, however, wish there was more in this volume. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushiπ£π£π£π£.
My Dress-up Darling

Ah I am really glad that I am continuing this series. This particular volume reminded me of the manga series Complex Age, but the only differences are that these are highschoolers and not adults and there is a boy in the mix that is accomplishing his own journey. I am also loving the main leading character dynamics (especially the girl she is adorable) Overall though, I am enjoying this series (although if you are not a fan of fan service I do not recommend). Because of these points, I have to give this volume a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£π£π£π£.
Medalist

This manga series is definitely perfect for the Winter Olympics that is occurring this week. This volume continues where the first one left off and the art style is amazing especially when it comes to the skating aspect. I also appreciated the life lessons that were presented. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi π£ π£ π£π£π£.
Novella
Mall You Need is Love

As someone who is having trouble reading right now, this is definitely a great novella for the valentine’s season. The guy is a jewelry store owner/maker (who knew that would be a unique career) plus the girl is an arcade owner!!! (Even better) The mystery and ending was a tad predictable but otherwise this was a great story. Because of these points, I have to give it a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£ π£π£. This comes out Feb 11th so check it out!!
The Week Ahead
I’ll be honest, I am not sure if this week was a fluke for 2022 or not. All I know is I am doing what I want. What about you guys? What did you read or watch this week? Let’s talk about it!
