Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in Time!!! These last two weeks, I have gone on a couple of solo adventures plus consuming random pieces of media.

Because of that though, I watched four movies, an anime, and a TV Show along with reading one novel. Onto the media!!!
Anime Movie
Belle

This movie is very gorgeously animated, and the music is so profound I felt a ton of emotion. However, this is not a romance. It is more like a coming-of-age story in the sense of the main character is trying to understand how helping a complete stranger makes people happy plus dealing with grief. There are a lot of different content warnings for this such as physical and verbal abuse, cyber bullying, grief, drowning, and potential suicidal thoughts. There is a Beauty and Beast element involved but it’s not what you expect. Overall, I love this movie and highly recommend it, the only issue I had was that the plot was more clunky than what I expected especially when it comes to time. However, if you watch it enough (aka make it a physical and streaming release please), I think the plot reveals itself better. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Sing a Bit of Harmony

This movie has a lot more plot and a better character dynamic personally. The songs were adorable and sweet but also emotional at the same time (the dub was also gorgeous). The world also takes place with a ton of artificial intelligence which was fascinating to me. I was invested in every character and every relationship including the familial dynamic. I would highly recommend it if you were looking for an anime movie that is very happy although has some minimum emotional undertones and like robots!! Because of these points, I have to give this a 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Movie
Lady of the Manor

This moovie!! Whoo it was so funny yet mostly stupid unfortunately. It also didn’t really have a point to it??? But Judy Greer and Justin Long stole the show for me. Because of these points, I have to give this movie a 2.5 out of 5 stars or 2 sushi 🍣🍣.
The God Committee

This movie is one that I was fascinated with when it comes to how certain people “decide” who gets an organ and who doesn’t. I also appreciated that there was mention on how there was some research being conducted that helps with the human organ shortage. What I wasn’t a fan of on the other hand, was the age gap romance between Kelsey Grammer and Julia Stiles (🤢) and the choppiness of timeline in the story (it made things confusing). Because of these points, I have to give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣🍣🍣.
Anime
One Piece

Well, you know I said last week that I was going to leave One Piece alone?? Well, it pulled me back in and I watched all that is current on the dub. I am enjoying it yes, but I really don’t think I can handle the subs and the pacing without the dub for multiple episodes. It still continues to intrigue me, and the show is still fun (not as much fun as Fairy Tail but that is just me) But overall, I am definitely pausing it now, perhaps waiting until next summer to watch more. Because of that, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
TV Show
Instinct

This is a show that my parents and I watched for a little bit while it was airing, and I enjoyed it then because it was an unexpected twist on the typical gruff cop and “girly” consultant. However, I like this one better because it’s a more platonic atmosphere and some of the crimes that are presented are twistier than the others. Otherwise though, I am really enjoying watching this and am excited to continue on. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Novel
Knot My Type

This book is definitely going to be one of my favorites of all time. This is because I enjoyed all of the inclusiveness of characters and the psychological logic that was presented. I also loved learning about rope play and other sexual items that I have heard of but not experienced with a thorough explanation. I appreciated all of the characters with the variety of personalities and the depth that were presented although there were moments the plot was too disjointed. Overall though, like I said this will be one of my favorites of all time and I recommend it for adults who enjoy characters with disabilities in their romance. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4-4.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣 🍣🍣.
