Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time!!!!! Happy New Year Everyone! The Media I consumed this week was for the last of 2021 and overall I had a fantastic media consumption year.

This week I read one novel and watched an anime, two movies, and two TV shows. Onto the Media!!
Movie
Christmas Everlasting

This was the last Christmas movie I ended up watching for 2021 and it was one that was more serious topic and more realistic than the typical Christmas Hallmark movie in my personal opinion. Trigger warnings for grief and verbal abuse. It was a decent movie and heartbreaking but at the same time, I think there’s not much to say because its pacing was quick plus there wasn’t much with plot and characters. Overall, I would recommend it if you wanted a different Hallmark movie than the more hyped-up ones with girl hate (there isn’t any of that here) and if you want a mostly African American cast. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣
Cruella

This was an intriguing movie with sticking to its time frame and having the fill of the Cruella’s past and character development without making things boring. I also appreciated that there are also some psychological aspects to the story as well. If you are interested in English 70s “punk” fashion and if you love 101 Dalmatians like my house does, check this movie out but I would recommend it for older teens not children. Because of these points, I have to give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣 🍣🍣.
TV Show
Friday Night Lights

This show is one that my family and I watched when I was younger and didn’t understand what was happening etc. Now that my family is rewatching it and I am watching it with them sporadically, I am understanding number 1. Why it was such a compelling series for my parents and 2. What exactly was happening with the characters that I missed. However, I can definitely see why not everyone likes it or can relate to it. Because of these points, I have to give this show a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣 🍣🍣.
In the Dark

When it comes to this show it keeps getting twisty and more twisty, but a little bit predictable at times. I am still enjoying it though and im excited to continue on. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣.
Anime
One Piece

This Anime! Its amazing how many intriguing the characters are and how interconnected they can be. I truly enjoy it plus the plot just keeps getting deeper and deeper. But I unfortunately after this arc may take a pause on it for now because I think I need to watch something else (probably fluffier or something). Because of these points, I have to give this a 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣 🍣 🍣🍣🍣.
Novel
Stolen by an Alien

This was definitely a fantastic book for me to read at the end of the year. It is one that if you are looking for a unique romance when it comes to science fiction and aliens with some devotional males and mostly strong-willed females check this out. The only issue that I personally didn’t have a problem with but I will caution it for others is that there’s a lot of sexual content that if you are uncomfortable with it, I would not suggest it. I loved it though with the description and how emotional it was. Because of these points, I have to give it a 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣🍣. If you’re interested in reading alien romance Amanda Milo has it down pat.
The Week/Year Ahead
The week but also year ahead like I say in my goals post is that, I am going to watch and read whatever I want that is readily available through streaming and physical copies or my huge tbr that I acquired in the last two years. This is personally best because it helps with my budgeting goal plus helps me use what I have instead of buying more. I will though still make sure if there are any suggestions or recommendations I hear about, put them in my lists on Amazon, to make sure that I get them eventually. What about you guys what did you read or watch at the end of 2021? Let’s talk about it!!!
