Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time with the holidays!! Happy Holidays to you all!

This last two weeks,I watched three movies with my family along with a television special and watched an anime. I also read two novels. Onto the media!
Anime
One Piece

These last two weeks, this anime just went deeper and deeper in history and lore. I just wish some things weren’t stilted right now. Because of these points, I have to give this part a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£ π£π£.
Movie
A Merry Friggin’ Christmas

This was not Robin William’s best work in my personal opinion. This is a movie that is definitely not for everyone with the crude humor, language and plot. I did appreciate though that it was an all-star cast with a variety of different actors both well-known and up and coming at the time of premiere (2014). Because of these points, I have to give this movie a 3 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi π£π£π£.
The Unforgivable

This movie was very dark and profound but overall engaging and interesting. All the trigger warnings for violence, involvement with ex-convicts etc. Its not one for the holidays for sure, but if you’re interested, I’d say watch it. 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£π£π£.
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

With this particular Christmas movie, I’ve heard a ton of different things about it plus I’ve watched the Vegas movie a while ago so my expectations were a mixed bag. However, I think if you are looking for some slapstick humor in your holiday movies and the lesson of Christmas doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s all about the spirit that it brings. I also would like to add there are some dated jokes, but if you can overcome them, you’ll enjoy the movie overall. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£ π£π£.
Television Special
A Very Boy Band Holiday

This was a really awesome special that brought in a bunch of men from a ton of different “boy” bands. I think my only issue with it was the song choices were limited and some of the scripted dialogue was a bit too cheesy. Because of that, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£ π£π£.
Novel
The Mistletoe Motive

I will be honest; I was truly excited for this book to come out because I have loved Chloe Liese and her books plus my dear friend Nessa reading it for our blog post and highly recommending it. I was ready. However, I had some trouble with reading this as a whole, but it wasn’t because of the writing or the reading process of it being on my phone (I prefer reading on my tablet but that’s a me problem not a book problem). I think for me personally as a person who could directly relate to the perspective that was being presented in the novel, it was difficult for me to keep up with the story because I needed a break from being in the characters’ head and I wanted to know more about how the guy felt other than what he tells the girl plus the other perspective would have helped me to learn about what it was like for an adult with type one diabetes etc. Overall, though, I appreciate this story for what it is and I definitely need more from Chloe Liese ASAP! Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£π£π£π£.
# The Leftover Bride

This book was fantastic! There’s cooking, fashion designing, and hockey. There’s also childhood reconnection deep familial discussion along with a ton of social influencing backgrounds. My only issues with it was that it was a tad too long for my particular attention span and the social media aspects could date it because of this, I have to give it a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£ π£π£.
