Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time with a ton of outside work happening that exhausted me almost everyday.

Because of that, this week I didn’t consume a ton of media but I ended up watching one movie, listening to two podcasts, and reading one manga volume. Onto the media!
Movie
Warm Springs

This is a movie that my dad and I have had on our lists for a bit and it was an interesting aspect to the FDR biographical life. It shows a lot about how FDR was acting before he acquired polio and after but before his political career took off. It makes his character a more human character which was interesting but it also gave the relationship of him and Eleanor more complicated than I expected. I thought there would also be more of their interactions too but, sadly its very little. I did like though that Eleanor’s intelligence was more shone in this movie because most of her depictions I’ve seen make her seem like an airhead when she wasn’t.
All of that aside, this movie’s main topic is on one of the first rehabilitation centers that was created in the United States with polio. As far as that’s concerned, it was truly fascinating to see how the creation of a rehabilitation center works and how FDR being a mini celebrity helped it grow so quickly and thrive even today it still exists. It was also amazing to see the camraderie between all of the patients at the center with FDR and without in a more positive manner than expected (of course I am sure there were lows to it too but we didn’t get any view of that). But I am glad that there was a variety of people and some character growth throughout.
Overall, I appreciate this movie for what it is but it’s not my favorite of all time. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£ π£ π£π£. Highly recommend.
Podcasts
Dub Talk

This week I decided to listen to my favorite anime podcast listening to their opinion on some classic and new favorite animes for me and it was so much fun to listen to them again with their perspectives and jokes they’re just awesome and informative as ever. 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi π£ π£π£π£π£.
Smart Women Read Romance

And of course this week i had to listen to my favorite romance book podcast as well and the books that I listened to to find out more about.. they are definitely ones that I am glad to know exist because of them. This podcast talks about well known stories but they also dig deep into author’s backlists and other people’s recommendations to find some fantastic gems. They also do breakdowns of the books so if you don’t mind spoilers I would recommend listening all the way through but if you do there is a nonspoilery section also. 5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi π£ π£ π£π£π£.
Manga
Series Starters
Our Teachers are Dating!

This is definitely a series once I finish with Sweat and Soap that I will definitely pick up when I am looking for an adorable cute series that have some very nice romantic moments. This is a 13+ aged series which as far as being non cursing and not any naughty jokes and a sweet romance I would highly recommend, However, I would say if you are someone who caters to 13 year old children and are not a fan of them reading adult breasts in their manga do not recommend it because there are a couple of scenes(thankfully within two pages of each other) that would need to be censored. Otherwise though, I definitely love the dynamic between all of the characters and the slow burn of navigating a new adult relationship and would highly recommend it for adults like me who love sweet but spicy romances. Because of these points, I have to give this manga a 4-4.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi π£π£π£π£.
The Week Ahead
Honestly, the week ahead, I have no idea!!! Haha! I don’t mean to be vague but with a new schedule at work this year, I have no idea how I’m going to work reading into my work schedule other than afterwards so I am not sure what is going to happen (so bare with me please). What about you guys? What did you read or watch or listen to this week? Let’s talk about it!
