Hey guys how’s it going? Weekly Check-in time! So I have been in the graphic mood this week.

Because of that, I watched one movie and two anime. I also read one comic and four volumes of manga. Onto the media!
Comic
Elle (s)

This was definitely a unique story discussing someone with a multiple personality disorder that sounds manufactured?? That’s what it sounds like. The artstyle is awesome and the characters seem interesting as well. I think my only issue is that it felt at moments that the plot was telling not showing and one of the characters was truly annoying. Because of these points, I have to give this comic a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣. I am definitely curious to see what happens next. This is already out so check this out if you’re interested.
Manga
Series Starters
Chasing After Aoi Koshiba

I’ll be honest this manga series won’t be everyone. This is because one of the characters is very two faced and moments very insulting to others. I do like that there’s a parallel between the adult and high school aspects of their life. I also liked the artstyle and relationship dynamic but there’s a mystery aspect that makes me sort of want to continue but it may be just passing through. Overall, this manga is one I am definitely curious to see what is going to happen but its not for everyone. 3 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣🍣🍣. This is already out so check this out if you’re interested.
Girlfriend Girlfriend

So you know those stories that are trainwrecks that you just can’t stop reading/watching?
Well this is one of them. I think I was hoping it was going to be a bit fluffier than it ended up being. I wasn’t a fan of any of the characters, some of the jokes didn’t really land for me, and how they figured things out was frankly very stupid. Mind you, I am also an adult reviewing this manga and some teens could like it (although the fan service was stupid too frankly), but I did enjoy the relationship concept although execution was garbage. However, I will give it a point for keeping my attention through the entire volume. Because of these points, I have to give this a 2.5 out of 5 stars or 2 sushi 🍣🍣.
And Yet, You are So Sweet

So if the previous one was a train wreck, this one was the absolute opposite of that.
This gives me High School Debut vibes but with a different artstyle (plus the leading guy has Justin Bieber hair not my fave but he’s still cute). It truly helps people that have unrequited feelings and how they deal with it. I also loved both characters and there were moments that I wanted to screenshot the panels especially the guy moments. Overall, this is a fantastic start to a manga series and I am excited to see what the next volume comes up with. Because of these points, I have to give this manga a 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣🍣.
Series Continuations
So Cute it Hurts!

I feel like this was a beginning of a secondary arc and I liked it. I especially enjoyed the character development with both romances. However, it just felt like a filler volume. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣🍣🍣.
Anime
The Gymnastics Samurai

This was a show that I loved but at the same time I was confused????? Definitely one that has a ton of unique characters that I wish that I knew more about them. But I also appreciated the uniqueness about them as well with inclusion being the biggest part of the side characters.
I liked the perspectives that we recieved with the gymnastics aspect as well especially the older person redeeming themselves in a sport after losing so long. However I wished there was more about other characters and more flushed out.
I also liked the parallels between the leading guys however it seemed like there wasn’t enough balance between them.
Overall, I enjoyed this anime for what it was and it is fun. However I think I would need more from it or a second season for it to be better. Because of these points, I have to give this anime a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣.
Food Wars

This anime has essentially been consuming most of my week. It has a variety of cooking techniques but at the same time there’s constant competition (which isn’t a bad thing), but there are a lot of unnecessary nudity and innuendos. That is truly my only gripe. Because of these points, I have to give this anime a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣. Definitely great if you love learning about food.
Movie
Florence Foster Jenkins

This movie was a very nice biography on the last few years of Florence Foster Jenkins’s life. However, I felt like there was too much telling not showing and because of that, towards the end of the film, it was too slow and I was losing interest fast. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣🍣🍣
The Week Ahead
The week ahead, I just want to continue on my mood of reading and watching unique art. However, I will probably also read some novels here and there. We’ll see what happens. What about you guys? What did you read and watch this week? Let’s talk about it!
Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
