The Peer Pressure Tag

Hey guys how’s it going? Today I am going to be discussing Peer Pressure. If you don’t know the definition of Peer Pressure is that its the influence from members of one’s peer group. This can be positive as well as negative.

This tag was one I have seen by several bloggers lately so I appreciated being tagged myself. Onto the tag!!

Are there any topics you refuse to write about due to peer pressure/because you think you’ll get mass hate on the blog?

Not really. At least I don’t think so. I am sure if my blog was big enough some of my reviews may get hate… but the goal for my reviews although they are an opinion piece, is to be informative. However, there are certain topics such as gameplay, cooking, etc. that its not that I am afraid that I’ll get hate if I post about them, its just I don’t know where to start haha. But know that the reason that the blog is called Sushirainbow is because the topics to discuss is a spectrum. I love learning and trying different things so I am not afraid of hate.

Have you ever written something because of peer pressure even if you didn’t want to? Why did you make that choice?

Well that goes back to my reviews and Weekly Check-ins. There are moments where I have read/watched something that everyone was talking about whether it is good or bad. Once I finish that form of media and I have an opposite opinion of the masses, it is difficult to write something about it. However, I make the choice to review something even if I don’t like something because I ultimately like to help people. Reviews help people consume the right media, in some books’ case reviews help the author etc. (I have a whole blog post on this if you’re interested.)

Do you ever feel yourself getting TOO passionate or triggered while writing or reading blogs?

Sometimes I get passionate yes, I think that’s why a lot of us do this I believe especially writing about something we love and adore. Reading though, I don’t get too triggered and passionate about other blogs unless it involves something I didn’t think about before etc. I know everyone has a different perspective and are passionate about different things so that doesn’t bother me.

What do you do when you have writer’s block because you’ve read someone else’s blog with the same or opposite views?

When I have writer’s block in general, I just stop writing for a bit to compose what I have to say and then try again later. If its because of someone else, sometimes I take a step back and say to myself, “yes this is something someone else is doing and maybe I am not good enough to do this.” However, after that, I find a different way to approach the blog post, plan, and write it.

Genre switch: If you had to throw a random anime character into a psychological thriller who would it be and why?

Haha! I am not a fan of psychological thrillers however I think the best anime characters to throw into them would have to be the vampires. It would be interesting to see the vampires from Chibi Vampire and Vampire Knight in a thriller. Plus I think they would handle themselves well.

Most Recommended Books/Anime (Songs are subjective to me so I don’t have any that have gotten recommended to me).

Books

  1. Shadowhunters (essentially everything with Cassandra Clare)
  2. Anything Sarah J Maas
  3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  4. Most novels by Colleen Hoover
  5. Most novels by Kasie West

Anime

  1. Attack on Titan
  2. Promised Neverland
  3. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
  4. Cowboy Bebop
  5. Psycho Pass

My Questions

  1. Is there something that you are afraid to write about on your blog because of peer pressure?
  2. What did you check out because of peer pressure (this can be a show, book, etc.)?
  3. Do you ever feel pressured to overpost on your blog because other people do?
  4. Does peer pressure get you out of your comfort zone? If it does why do you think that is?
  5. Topic switch: If you could live in a world that you have consumed media-wise where would it be?
