Weekly Check-in 10/03/2020

Factandfictiondesigns created this amazing cup and completely summarizes this week for us.

Hey guys how’s it going? This week has been really tough personally. I won’t divulge in the details but I had to read and watch all the fluffy things. I read three volumes of manga and rewatched an anime. Onto the media!

Series Continuations

I Hear the Sunspot Volume 2:Theory of Happiness

Ahh you see my face in this pic!!! 😅 but I was intensely reading this this week thank you Creativechaotics for the recommendation of vol 1

This manga was oooof a tad dramatic, However, I looved this book in the sense of moving forward in a grown up relationship with also some disability discussion. It also was wonderful in its character development and art style!!! My only issue I had was its dependence on the miscommunication trope made me a little annoyed because it depended on it heavily this plot. Because of these points. I have to give this manga a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣

So Cute It Hurts!!! Vol 2

This manga is adorable!! (emphasis on the exclamation point) I think there is going to be an unexpected relationship that is going to be explored in the next volume plus some people know the ultimate secret of this series now. This particular volume was amazing because it developed the new relationships from the previous volume plus, it showed some Japanese Sign Language in a nice sweet way (as opposed to previous series that makes it very dramatic which is not bad but it takes away from the story). Anyhow, that was a tangent but I truly enjoyed this volume and very excited to continue the series more especially to see how the love stories (as well as friendships) turn out!~ 4-4.5 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Series Starters

Kiss Him Not Me Vol 1

This manga volume was essentially the first few episodes of the anime (in the best way) plus the artstyle is gorgeous. Warning: there are some negative connotations with otaku culture plus being plus-sized but thankfully they are discussed and turn more positive (at least at this point in time). The boys are also very adorable in different ways and that the friendships and relationships are fascinating to read/watch. This also clearly has the best guy have the best lines (no spoilers here but if you’ve read and watched this you know) but everyone is fun in their own way. Because of these points, I have to give this a solid 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Anime

Rewatch

My Love Story

I was recommended this by one of my dearest college friends and have thought of her through this rewatch.

This week, I decided to rewatch My Love Story. This is because its one of those shows that is timeless plus its a fluffy and comfort show with fantastic friendships and relationships to boot. It also shows people that you can be yourself and fall in love no matter what you look and sound like. 4.5 out of 5 stars or 5 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

The Week Ahead

This entire month I am going to read manga instead of books because of everything happening at home plus they’re fast and fun. The other thing I may do next week is watch something fun for me like My Love Story this week.
