Weekly Check-In 08/29/2020

Hey guys how’s it going this week was a roller coaster with a hurricane threatening to pass through.

Because of this, I was a tad slumpy when it came to my media consumption with continuing a tv show with my family, watching a season of anime that just came out, and rereading one of my favorite books. Onto the discussion!

TV Show

West Wing

I’ve continued watching this with my family and the dynamic shift that occurs in these episodes this week 😯. It was intense but at the same time I feel essential with wrapping the series up. Again I’ll watch the series over again especially since there’s a lot missed.

Anime

Aggretsuko

This week Aggretsuko season 3 came out and it came at the right time. It discusses Retsuko getting into debt because of a Virtual Reality Game and helps out an idol group in the process plus a lot of the other characters work on other projects in addition to Retsuko’s. I enjoyed the comedy and the characters as a whole and there are several moral lessons represented in this entire series for adults. I did want to watch more though and it was too short in my opinion. Because of these points, i have to give this 4 stars or 4 sushi 🍣🍣🍣🍣.

Novel

Megan Meade’s guide to the McGowan Boys

This was a book I actually reread recently. I read this back in middle school and loved it so much that I reread it at least 8 times. This was the first time I read it as an adult and phew I have a lot of thoughts that I am actually going to more in depth in a future blog post. But it was still entertaining and although I disliked some of the characters more than I did before, I still was wanting to read it and I think it got me out of my reading slump. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣🍣🍣.

The Week Ahead

Well for sure I hope that this coming week is better than last in the sense of more fun media needs to be consumed. I know I said this last week but I think between all the serious subject matter I consumed last week and the small amount I did this week, I may be increasing the fluff. What about you guys?
