Hey guys how’s it going? This week has been a variety of media I’ve started as well as finished. I finished one movie,tv show, and two books. I also started my first K-Drama which has been difficult but thats just because of the concept (just me not k-dramas as a whole). But I am really excited that I’ve expanded my horizons again this week. Onto the media!

Movie
Onward

I will be honest, I had some high expectations when it came to this but at the same time I was not sure how I was going to feel about this. I think I enjoyed the world overall because one of my favorite tropes is all supernatural creatures hanging out together along with a ton of hilarious lines and deep subject matter. I think though there were some unnecessary points and some dad/ boy jokes that I was not a fan of so overall I have to give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi🍣🍣🍣 .
Novel
Highlander Ever After

This was my first adult highlander romance and I have to say I was pleased with it. First though, I must preface that there are scenes of smut in this both positive and negative so if that doesn’t interest you do not read this. This is also a last book in a series that can be read as a standalone. There are times that it can be overwhelming at first with all of the characters from previous books being mentioned for the standalone readers but you get used to it at the end. When it comes to the romance itself, if you love hate to love, this can give you that trope with an added love triangle. But it also gives a leading guy that is macho but also genuine as well with his feelings and thoughts as well as a family man which helped the swoon factor in my particular case. I also appreciated that there was a genuine plot throughout and not just smut and the leading characters being at each other’s throats/madly in love. In my books, I appreciate the balance of that which in this particular case, I believe the author executed it superbly. Overall, I appreciate my friend picking this out for me to read and I hope now I will not be as intimidated by these type of books. Because of these points, I have to give this a 4 out of 5 stars or 4 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣🍣.
Finding Me

I was not sure how I felt about this book. At first, there was a lot of clunky paragraphs and a ton of repetition of the same items over and over again lots of telling not showing 🙃. But there are some merits to it as well. • The disability rep is realistic in the sense that the description throughout the story shows what the main character does throughout the day. • There are also discussion about drifting apart from your friends and gaining new ones with minor LGBTQIA+ rep which was an added bonus. • This also reminded me the most of a Sarah Dessen novel which is a good thing but at the same time if you do not like dark subjects such as drunk driving, car accidents, parental abandonment, parental grief, friendship loss etc. Do not read this if you do not want these in your stories. Overal, you’re looking for a high school romance that has some dark elements + disability rep with a happy ending I would definitely recommend it. I enjoyed my read of this in the sense of something to start for a darker high school contemporary but if youre an adult you may be annoyed with how things go. Because of these points I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣.
TV Show
Little Men

My family and I finally finished this series! As a whole we enjoyed ourselves because of the classic feel plus most of the plot was very good (although towards the end it was a tad insane and slow). This is also reiterated my love for Louisa May Alcott works (which is why I read Tiffany Schmidt’s retelling last month) anyway because of these points, I have to give this series a 3-3.5 out of 5 stars or 3 sushi 🍣 🍣🍣
K-Drama
It’s okay to not be okay

This one was recommended to me by quite a few people. I was especially asked because of the representation of the main characters. But I’ve only started with the whole first episode and half of the second episode not enough for a full fledge review obviously but I am intrigued to continue. It is very dark and intense so not something I can binge watch but it is still intriguing nonetheless.
The Week Ahead
Man I don’t know lol like I said earlier, I am all over the place. My mom was actually just telling me how much I try all kinds of media for the most part but if it disinterests me I tend to stop it and move on or go back to it. I think also after work I just like mindless things so I just pick whatever. I can tell you already I finished one book for next week. What else I’ll finish we shall see. What about you guys? What did you guys read or watch this week? Let’s talk about it!
