Weekly Check-In 07/18/2020

Hey guys how’s it going? Today’s Weekly Check-In is kind of back to normal in the sense of I watched as well as read this week. I’ll be honest with current events personally I have gotten a bit slumpy when it comes to reading. But I have continued some stuff that I watched last week but watched some new stuff a couple of shows and have started a novel that I am almost halfway through.

TV Shows

Tough as Nails

I have watched the first two episodes and one of my favorite parts about it is that there are two parts of the show: the individual portion and the team portion. Because of this, there are two ways to win as a team and individually. I like that this happens because theres camaraderie and everyone gets at least something for competing. It also represents hard work working hard is important and the ones that accomplish those manual tasks do not get enough praise. If this interests you, check this show out.

Big Flower Fight

This show is fascinating in the sense of creativity and if my late grandmother was still alive to watch this she’d love all the different kinds of flowers/plants that they use. My only issue I have with this one is certain people get the challenge wins more often than others that don’t even particularly follow the rules (that’s just me though.) I also enjoy that there is a variety of materials used for each challenge so far. Check it out if you haven’t already

Novel

Bookish Boyfriends: The Boy Next Story

This is also a sequel/companion story to Bookish Boyfriends: A Date with Darcy

Now this is a high school rom com that is also a classic retelling of Little Women mixed with The Great Gatsby. I enjoy this story a lot however, I am not sure how I am enjoying how long things are taking. If you’re looking for bookish easter eggs in your books plus an interesting friends and family dynamic check this series out.

The Week Ahead

I am definitely going to continue watching and reading what I listed this week plus more. What about you guys? Are you slumpy? What did you read or watch this week? Let’s talk about it!
