Hey guys today I am going to talking about a fantastic readathon hosted by my friend Amanda from A Court of Books and Love that is taking place in the month of June. I will be listing out the challenges and what I am going to be potentially reading. Here is the video of her announcement + To -Be-Read to see what she likes to read too.

Now Let’s Break Down the TBR/To-Be Read
Read a book in your favorite genre
Although there are so many genres I love so much I want to make this easy on myself by picking romance manga that way at least of three of the manga I want to read this month are covered with this prompt.
Read a Book with your favorite color on the cover
Now this book could triple up on challenges if I so choose but I really enjoyed the author’s debut work Queens of Geek. I have also heard that this book connects to the previous work in some way so I am truly curious what that is going to mean.

Here’s the synopsis from Amazon:
“As a rock star drummer in the hit band The Brightsiders, Emmy King’s life should be perfect. But there’s nothing the paparazzi love more than watching a celebrity crash and burn. When a night of partying lands Emmy in hospital, she’s branded the latest tabloid train wreck.
Luckily, Emmy has her friends and bandmates, including the super-swoonworthy Alfie, to help her pick up the pieces of her life. She knows hooking up with a band member is exactly the kind of trouble she should be avoiding, and yet Emmy and Alfie Just. Keep. Kissing.
Will the inevitable fallout turn her into a clickbait scandal (again)? Or will she find the strength to stand on her own?”
Read a book while doing self care
This one could be anything while doing self care: taking a bath, painting your nails, laying on your couch not wanting to do any work(school or otherwise 😁). So I think I am going to use this for a manga to be determined.
Read a book you’ve been wanting to read but keep putting off
Ok I will be honest, this book I have put it off for a couple of reasons:
- I know the last book comes out next year
- I know some of the characters are going to be weird when I read it and I am afraid of what’s going to happen.
This is the sequel to A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kimmerer

This is the synopsis from Amazon from the first one A Curse so Dark and Lonely:
“It once seemed so easy to Prince Rhen, the heir to Emberfall. Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his eighteenth year over and over, he knew he could be saved if a girl fell for him. But that was before he learned that at the end of each autumn, he would turn into a vicious beast hell-bent on destruction. That was before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.
Nothing has ever been easy for Harper. With her father long gone, her mother dying, and her brother barely holding their family together while constantly underestimating her because of her cerebral palsy, she learned to be tough enough to survive. But when she tries to save someone else on the streets of Washington, DC, she’s instead somehow sucked into Rhen’s cursed world.
Break the curse, save the kingdom.
A prince? A monster? A curse? Harper doesn’t know where she is or what to believe. But as she spends time with Rhen in this enchanted land, she begins to understand what’s at stake. And as Rhen realizes Harper is not just another girl to charm, his hope comes flooding back. But powerful forces are standing against Emberfall . . . and it will take more than a broken curse to save Harper, Rhen, and his people from utter ruin.”
Read a book with a character or by an author you connect with
This one is also one that I can double with Brightsiders but I also have a different book in mind I want to try.

Here’s the synopsis from Amazon:
“Autism in Heels, an intimate memoir, reveals the woman inside one of autism’s most prominent figures, Jennifer O’Toole. At the age of thirty-five, Jennifer was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, and for the first time in her life, things made sense. Now, Jennifer exposes the constant struggle between carefully crafted persona and authentic existence, editing the autism script with wit, candor, passion, and power. Her journey is one of reverse-self-discovery not only as an Aspie but–more importantly–as a thoroughly modern woman.
Beyond being a memoir, Autism in Heels is a love letter to all women. It’s a conversation starter. A game changer. And a firsthand account of what it is to walk in Jennifer’s shoes (especially those iconic red stilettos).
Whether it’s bad perms or body image, sexuality or self-esteem, Jennifer’s is as much a human journey as one on the spectrum. Because autism “looks a bit different in pink,” most girls and women who fit the profile are not identified, facing years of avoidable anxiety, eating disorders, volatile relationships, self-harm, and stunted independence. Jennifer has been there, too. Autism in Heels takes that message to the mainstream.”
Bonus challenges
Reread your favorite book
Well this can be a lot of choices for sure but I may read Megan Meade’s Guide to the McGowan Boys by Kate Brian. I just recieved the hardback version of this because my copy needed an upgrade. Itll be nice to revisit this as an adult.
Watch a TV show or movie
I think for this particular challenge I will use either Avatar or Fruits basket. In addition, I’ll probably watch random movies in between those shows we will say what happens this month.
If you guys are able to participate in this readathon please let me know. If not please follow Amanda if you haven’t already. Let’s talk about Self-Love in the comments: what is the best way you love yourself?
